ESR vacuum blood collection tubes feature a 3.8% buffered tri-sodium citrate solution (0.129mol/l) with a precise 1:4 mixing ratio of citrate solution to blood. These specialized tubes are designed for blood collection and anticoagulation in erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) testing.
The innovative sandwich material design consists of an inner tube made of PP (polypropylene) and an outer tube made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate). This dual-layer construction provides superior performance:
- PP inner tube prevents additive decrease, maintaining stable sodium citrate concentration
- PET outer tube ensures long-term vacuum stability
- Ø13×75mm ESR Tube: Specifically designed for automated erythrocyte sedimentation rate analyzers using the Westergren method

Due to the small volume and negative pressure inside the tube, allow sufficient time for blood collection. Wait patiently until blood stops flowing into the tube. Then completely mix the anticoagulant and additive by turning the tube upside down 6-8 times. Inappropriate mixing may cause hemolysis, coagulation, or blood bubbles that could affect test results.
