Unlike ESU, the ultrasonic harmonic scalpel uses ultrasonic vibrations to cut and coagulate tissue, As there no current through patient body, it's more safety. And it works with generator, transducer, and footswitch. It's mainly used in thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, abdominal surgery, ENT surgery, head-neck surgery, breast surgery, urology MIS and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
