52100 Bearing Steel Overview
AISI 52100 steel is a high-carbon chromium bearing steel known for exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue strength after quenching and tempering. Also designated as ISO 100Cr6 and GB GCr15, this material offers excellent hot workability and processability after spheroidizing annealing.

Heat Treatment Processes
Partial Annealing
770-790°C, furnace cooled to below 550°C, then air cooled | Hardness: 187-229 HBS
Isothermal Spheroidizing Annealing
770-790°C, isothermal at 680-700°C, furnace cooled to below 550°C, then air cooled | Hardness: 187-229 HBS
Stress Relieving
600-700°C, furnace cooled | Hardness: 187-229 HBS
Normalizing
930-950°C, air cooled | Hardness: 302-388 HBS
Tempering
150-190°C for 2 hours, furnace cooled | Hardness: 58-62 HRC
Quenching and Tempering
