The paper is sealed between layers of polyethylene, topped with an emulsion and a supercoating. Because the paper is completely sealed in the resin layer, it does not absorb any liquid. That's why resin-coated paper is quick to clean and the chemicals never penetrate the paper itself. Another advantage is that the paper dries quickly and smoothly. Because the emulsion layer is located at the top of the polyester on the resin coated paper, the imaging depth is less than that of the fiber.
