Brief introduction 
 
The process of offset printing uses a large printing plate to transfer an inked image onto a rubber blanket then to the printing surface. Since this process uses a rubber blanket, you can use offset printing to print an image onto almost any surface including paper, wood, metal, or leather. So blanket is very important in offset printing.

Blanket structure and surface and back 
 
The printing blanket normally includes 3 layers as below:

• a base non-woven fabric or a spun bonded non-woven fabric layer which is assigned to the printing cylinder,
• a soft, highly resilient void-free compressible intermediate rubber layer which has closed gas pores
•  an outer-lying void-free layer of an elastomeric layer which faces toward the printing

 
Maintenance

• Clean the blanket with fast volatile organic solvents
• Clean rolls when ink color changing or refilling
• Release the blanket offer the cylinder when the printing machine stopped for a long time
• New blankets should be stored in dry and cool place covered with dark layer.
