Float Rubber Fender

Float rubber fender was developed in Japan in 1958. The fender should be manufactured according to ISO 17357. The standard defines the corresponding international standards for the materials and testing of these fenders. In most cases, the product should be surrounded by tires and chains to provide additional protection. The fender can also be reinforced with rubber ribs(rib fender) without tires and chain mesh (sling fender).

Float Rubber Fender Classification

According to international pneumatic rubber fenders, 80Kpa float rubber fender systems are divided into two categories. From the appearance, there are two types of marine pneumatic bumpers:

1.Initial Pressure 50 Kpa, P50 rubber fender

2.Initial Pressure 80 Kpa, P80 rubber fender

3.Type I, CTN Type, with chains and tire nets

4.Type II, Sling Type, without chains and tire nets

Float Rubber Fender Structure

The 80Kpa float rubber fender is composed of three vulcanized layers, each of which provides an important function in the structure and service life of the fender. The three layers are (1) the inner rubber layer, (2)the reinforced cord layer (3) the outer rubber layer.

The outer rubber layer uses special compounds that provide additional tensile strength and tear strength to protect the fender from severe weather conditions and frequent use, while the inner rubber layer is specially designed to seal the internal air and prevent any leakage, just like the inner tube of a tire. The reinforced layer is a composite tire cord with cross shadow lines, which is designed to distribute stress evenly.
