8 Ton Vibratory Road Roller LTS208H Hydraulic Single Drive Single Drum
8 Ton Vibratory Road Roller LTS208H Hydraulic Single Drive Single Drum
The LTS208H is a hydraulic single drive single drum vibratory roller designed for small and medium compaction operations such as asphalt pavement, sidewalks and trench backfill.
Hydraulic single drum roller is divided into hydraulic single drive single drum roller and hydraulic double drive single drum roller. The core difference between hydraulic single-drive single drum and hydraulic full-drive single drum rollers lies in the number of driving wheels, which directly affects their performance and application scenarios:
Hydraulic single drive single drum roller: Only one steel wheel is the driving wheel, relying on the hydraulic motor to drive the wheel to rotate, so as to drive the machine forward or backward. The other steel wheel is the free wheel, following the driving wheel to roll.
Hydraulic all-wheel drive single drum rollers: Although there is only one drum, there are two separate hydraulic motors inside that drive each side of the drum. This means that both sides of the wheel can be powered independently, allowing for more precise control and greater traction.
The performance differences resulting from this distinction are mainly in the following areas:
- Traction: FWD single drum rollers have greater traction, especially on slippery or soft surfaces, providing a more stable ride and more effective compaction. Whereas single drive rollers may slip or have difficulty climbing in these situations.
- Climbing ability: The all-wheel drive system gives the FWD single drum roller a stronger climbing ability to cope with steeper grades.
- Maneuverability: FWD single drum rollers allow for finer steering control, such as turning in place or making small radius turns, which can be useful in tight construction areas. Single-drive rollers, on the other hand, rely heavily on differential control of the drive wheels for steering, which is relatively less flexible.
- Manufacturing and Maintenance Costs: Due to their more complex construction, FWD single drum rollers typically have higher manufacturing and maintenance costs than SDWD rollers.
Which hydraulic single steel roller should I choose?
Which type of roller to choose depends on the specific construction needs. If the construction site is relatively flat, the traction and handling requirements are not high, then the single drive single steel wheel roller is an economical choice. If you need to perform compaction operations in wet, soft and complex terrain conditions with large slopes, then the all-drive single steel wheel roller can provide better performance and reliability.
