Back-up rings prevent seal pinching in high pressure appliC-A-Tions and are also used to protect the life of the overall sealing system in the event of sudden pressure changes.

 Back-up Rings are engineered to combine the properties of elastomeric seals and mating components to go a long way in ensuring the life and performance of sealing systems in high pressure appliC-A-Tions.

Back-up ring dimensions are tightly adhered to tight tolerances to ensure they properly bridge the seal groove and mating surfaces. When selecting materials, decisions will be made based on their pressure resistance and wear resistance.

The support ring can be a closed ring or a split ring. Split rings are used to ensure ease of assembly.
