Material Introduction:
The commonly used materials of oil seal are: nitrile rubber, fluorine rubber, silicone rubber, acrylate rubber, polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene and so on.
Nitrile rubber (NBR)
It has good heat resistance, wear resistance, various lubriC-A-Ting oil, grease, oil and gas mixture, applicable temperature -30~120 degrees Celsius, but can not be used in phosphate ester hydraulic oil and gear oil containing extreme pressure additives, stable performance in gasoline and low aniline point mineral oil.
Polyacrylate rubber (ACM)
Oil resistance, heat resistance, abrasion resistance, ozone resistance, ultraviolet radiation resistance, especially resistance to extreme pressure agent containing lubriC-A-Ting oil, gear oil, motor oil, oil, petroleum hydraulic oil, etc., suitable for -30~150 degrees Celsius work.
Fluorine rubber
Aging resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance, almost all lubriC-A-Ting oil, fuel oil, gasoline, in oil containing extreme pressure additives is not easy to harden, but cold resistance, high temperature wear resistance is poor, permanent compression deformation is large, suitable for temperature -20~250 degrees Celsius.
Silicone rubber
With outstanding high and low temperature resistance, it can be used for a long time at 150 degrees Celsius without performance change;It can be used for 10000h under 200 working conditions, and can maintain its unique flexibility and ozone and weather resistance in the range of -70~260 working temperature.
It has outstanding chemical stability, thermal stability, anti-friction and self-lubricity, and its cracking temperature is above 400.As a result, it can operate normally at a temperature of -200 to 300 degrees Celsius.Except for free fluorine and alkali metals, it has excellent corrosion resistance to chemicals, solvents, hydroxides and acids.
Nitrile rubber compared with fluorine rubber material is to use a wide range of oil seal, the cost is low, but the heat resistance and sealing has improved significantly, but the cost is higher, and still have some adverse commonness of ordinary rubber materials, such as poor wear resistance and short service life, particularly sensitive response to the eccentric shaft, such as leakage phenomenon is relatively common.PTFE oil seal is a product with high technical content, which is the development direction of oil seal in the future [2].
When selecting the material for oil seal, the compatibility of the material to the working medium, the adaptability to the working temperature range and the following ability of the lip to the rotating axis at high speed must be considered.In general, the temperature of the lip of oil seal is 20~50℃ higher than the temperature of working medium.The working range of oil seal is related to the materials used in oil seal: -40~120℃ for nitrile rubber (NBR), -30~180℃ for Alec rubber (ACM), and -25~300℃ for fluororubber (FPM)
