The Water Soluble Laundry Bag is a convenient precaution tool that enables soiled linen handlers to isolate, store, transport and clean washable dirty items. The bags can be used as integral liners in collection containers or as independent storage bags for soiled or contaminated items (i.e. used c​ontinence pads and bed linen) prior to laundering, thus minimising the risk of cross contamination or direct exposure to waste materials or body fluids. Closed Laundry Bags can be placed directly into the washing machine. During washing, the water soluble transparent bags dissolve, releasing the contents into the wash.

Water Soluble Laundry Bags with soluble integral ties are made from transparent PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) film. PVA is a non-toxic environmentally friendly biodegradable material that dissolves in water. PVA is commonly used in packaging of a variety of goods, such as plant and vegetable seeds, textiles and clothing, unfinished embroidery items, fresh foods and also in making of water soluble laundry bags for better hygiene and easy handling of soiled washable items.

Hot Water Soluble Laundry Bags begin to dissolve in hot at 60° C and over and Cold Water Soluble Laundry Bags begin to dissolve in cold water at 25° C and over. They are made from a transparent 25 microns thick PVA film in natural transparent colour. When washing items in hot water soluble bags in water below 60° C and cold water soluble bags in water below 25° C, you may have to remove remains of the bag from the washing machine at the end of the washing programme. These laundry bags are not suitable for use in domestic washing machines as they are designed for use in professional or commercial laundry washers, such as used in care institutions.
