600-1000V ACAR Conductor For Power Distribution Lines

Introduction

ACAR Conductor Used as bare overhead transmission cables and as primary and secondary distribution cable. A good strength-to-weight ratio makes ACAR applicable where both ampacity and strength are prime considerations in line design; for equal weight, ACAR offers higher strength and ampacity than ACSR.

1.ACAR is widely used in power transmission lines with various voltage levels, and also used in power lines across great rivers, heavy ice area, etc. with special geographical situation.

2.ACAR Conductor has excellent advantage of high strength, large current carrying capacity and good catenaries property as well as wear-resistance, anti-crush and corrosion-proof with simple structure, convenient installation and maintenance, low cost for the line, large transmission capacity.

3.ACAR consists of a galvanized steel core of 1 wire , 7 wires or 19 wires surrounded by concentric layers of aluminium wire . When a conductor with a high current carrying capacity and comparatively low strength is required , special constructions are available with a high aluminium content.
