1. APPLICATION
All Aluminum Conductors (AAC) can be used as a bare overhead conductor for distribution lines. Because of its low strength-to-weight ratio, (AAC) has limited use in transmission lines. AAC is extensively used in urban areas where spans are usually short but high conductivity is required.
2. STANDARDS
IEC 61089: Round wire concentric lay overhead electrical stranded conductors.
3. CONDUCTORS
Hard drawn Aluminum wires, concentric lay stranded.
The most commonly used stranding consists of 7, 19, 37, 61 and 91 wires.
Bare concentric-lay-stranded aluminum wires constructed with a straight round central aluminum wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid aluminum wires.
