Fishing Magnet
Fishing magnet is a downhole fishing tool commonly used in oil and gas drilling, well intervention, and geological drilling operations to retrieve small metallic junk from the wellbore. It is especially suitable for recovering fallen objects such as drill bits, cones, bearings, slips, casing slips, centralizers, and other small metal parts that may be left downhole during drilling, milling, or workover activities.
The tool features a simple structure, reliable performance, and convenient operation. It uses permanent magnets installed inside the tool to generate a strong magnetic field. When the fishing magnet is lowered to the bottom of the well, metallic debris and small downhole junk are attracted and held securely by the magnet surface. This helps reduce the risk of junk falling back into the wellbore and improves fishing efficiency.
A protective cover is usually installed at the bottom of the fishing magnet. This cover helps prevent mechanical damage to the magnet during running in and also protects the magnetic surface from direct impact and abrasion. According to different downhole fishing requirements, fishing magnets can be designed in various types and sizes to match different hole sizes and fishing applications.
