Kelly Valve
The Kelly Valve, also known as Kelly Cock or Drill Pipe Safety Valve, is a manual control valve in the drill string circulating system and serves as one of the most effective tools for blowout prevention.
Product Overview
Kelly valves are categorized into two types:
- Upper Kelly Valve: Installed between the swivel sub and kelly
- Lower Kelly Valve: Installed between the lower end of kelly and upper end of drill pipe
Operation is achieved by rotating the special wrench 90° to switch between open and closed positions according to operational instructions.
Safety Application
During drilling operations, to prevent malignant accidents and ensure operational safety, Kelly valves must be connected on both ends of the kelly to prevent drilling fluid loss and provide effective blowout prevention.
