Installation Guidelines
Mounting Position
Install in vertical orientation with mating flange connection at the bottom. Position discharge dampener as close as possible to pump discharge port for optimal performance.
Mounting Procedure
Install stud bolts in replaceable bottom plate
Position dampener on gasket with equal circumferential spacing
Tighten lubricated nuts evenly until firmly secured
Cross-tighten nuts to specified torque values (refer to Section 3.2 bolting data)
Precharging Instructions
WARNING: Always precharge with zero system pressure and use nitrogen only. Never use other gases.
General Precharging Steps
Access charging valve and pressure gauge by removing valve guard
Verify all cover stud nuts are evenly tightened and seal nuts are firmly seated
Connect charging hose between nitrogen bottle and dampener charging valve
Use standard commercial nitrogen bottle with pressure regulator
For high-pressure applications, utilize gas booster pump (e.g., Haskell International Inc.)
Open bottle regulator valve until reaching recommended precharge pressure
Precharge pressure should be based on average system operating pressure. Consult qualified personnel for applications involving MWD tools or specialized requirements.
