Hydril K20 Mud Pump Pulsation Dampener
ATO supplies forged and cast steel pulsation dampeners that are interchangeable and compatible with Hydril series "K" dampeners, Emsco series "PD" dampeners, and Bomco series "KB" dampeners. These units are dependable and reliable with API connections, designed for high-performance mud pump applications.

Installation and Mounting
The Hydril K-P Series Pulsation Dampener/Surge Stabilizer should be mounted in the vertical position with the mating flange connection at the bottom. The discharge dampener should be mounted as close as possible to the discharge port of the pump for optimal performance.
Mounting Procedure
Install stud bolts in the replaceable bottom plate
Position dampener on gasket and mating flange ensuring equal spacing around circumference
Install lubricated nuts on each stud and tighten evenly
Cross tighten nuts to proper torque specifications
Precharging Instructions
WARNING: ALWAYS PRECHARGE WITH ZERO PRESSURE ON THE SYSTEM AND ALWAYS PRECHARGE WITH NITROGEN ONLY
The correct precharge is vital for maximizing efficiency of the pulsation dampener. Precharge pressure is typically based on the average operating pressure of the system, though specific applications may require consultation with qualified Hydril personnel.
Precharging Procedure
Ensure all cover stud nuts are tightened evenly and charging valve seal nuts are firmly seated
Connect charging hose assembly from nitrogen bottle to charging valve at top of dampener
Use standard commercially available nitrogen bottle with pressure regulator
Open bottle regulator valve until recommended precharge pressure shows on regulator gauge
