What Is DAGYEE Dissolved Air Flotation?
The DAF unit technology uses extremely small air bubbles to lift suspended solids and oil to the top surface. The formed sludge layer is scraped into a sludge holding tank. The addition of coagulation and flocculation chemicals may be required to enhance the performance.
Removal efficiency is usually superior to gravity bases systems and often applied as polishing step (downstream of CPI).
The DAF unit can be supplied with a gas-tight cover, coagulation & flocculation dosing and mixing equipment and air-saturation by special pumps or in separate pressure vessel.
Coagulation/Flocculation
These processes play a central role in many water and wastewater technologies by facilitating the removal of suspended solids and colloidal particles. This is achieved through the addition of organic or inorganic chemical reagents called coagulants and flocculants. Coagulants neutralize the repulsive electrical charges (typically negative) surrounding suspended or colloidal particles, allowing them to stick together and create clumps or “flocs”. Flocculants support the agglomeration or aggregation of the coagulated particles into larger floccules.
PH adjustment and control
These are the basic procedures in any chemical treatment technology and are executed automatically using acids or bases as needed. pH is a measure of the hydrogen ion (H +) activity in water, and therefore also a measure of water acidity or alkalinity. Adjusting the pH value can neutralize the water to protect downstream equipment or before disposal. It makes the downstream precipitation and coagulation process more efficient. See more information in the "Filtering" section.
Why Choose DAGYEE?
Because we have achieved a very high standard by means of our research, based on empirical values, especially by applying an innovative process technology based on homogenization of liquid due to micro bubbles and their effect on flotation and oxidation. This is a guarantee for a frictionless operation, even after expiring of the guarantee period.
How It Works
Flotation consists of separating solids from the water phase by attaching the solids to fine air bubbles to decrease the densityof the particles which float instead of sinking. The rising solids are called the “float” and are skimmed off the surface and further processed in the sludge train.Chemicals can be added to improve the separation: first for coagulation and then for flocculation.
The type of flotation used by Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), in which the suspension is saturated with air at high pressure. Bubbles are released to the water and will attach to the suspended solids. The bubbles from a DAF system are much smaller than in other types of flotation systems and better adhere to the solids. This makes
DAFs one of the most efficient flotation options of wastewater treatment.
