Step 1: Open the individual sterile blister package and take the pediatric lancet out.

Step 2: Remove the safety tab and make the newborn heel lancet ready for sampling.

Step 3: Put the puncture slot (arrow part) against the opmital samping sites firmly.

Step 4: Press the button of the heel lancet and make the penetration done.

Step 5: Dispose the used infant safety lancet in a sharps container.

Step 6: Wiped away the first drop of blood gently with a dry sterile gauze pad.

Step 7: Collect the blood samples with a capillary tube (or similar device), or allow the blood to drip on the specimen collection card directly.
