RO4835 Material Overview
Rogers RO4835 is a premium hydrocarbon-based high-frequency laminate with superior high-temperature stability and oxidation resistance compared to conventional thermoset microwave substrates. It exhibits highly consistent electrical and mechanical properties with the classic RO4350B series, delivering reliable high-frequency performance while enabling cost-effective mass manufacturing. Fully compatible with standard FR-4 fabrication processes, the material simplifies production workflows and enhances manufacturing efficiency. Equipped with Rogers proprietary LoPro reverse-treated copper foil, RO4835 achieves ultra-low insertion loss, making it an ideal solution for high-precision, loss-sensitive RF circuit designs.
Core Material Performance Features
Standard Compliance: Complying with RoHS UL 94 V-0 and IPC-4103 standards, the material delivers safe, standardized and reliable performance for commercial, industrial and automotive electronic applications.
Low and Stable High-Frequency Loss: It maintains a stable DK of 3.48±0.05 and ultra-low DF of 0.0037 at 10GHz, minimizing signal attenuation and distortion to ensure precise, stable high-frequency signal transmission.
Superior Thermal Resistance: With a Tg over 280°C, the material features excellent thermal stability, resisting structural and performance degradation under high-temperature processing and operation for prolonged service life.
Controllable Thermal Expansion Performance: Optimized CTE parameters reduce thermal expansion and deformation during temperature cycling, sustaining structural integrity and improving overall PCB reliability in variable thermal environments.
Excellent Oxidation Resistance and Process Compatibility: It offers great oxidation resistance and full lead-free process compatibility, preventing blistering and delamination to enable stable, high-yield mass production.
Precise Dielectric Tolerance and Structural Stability: Tight DK tolerance supports accurate impedance control and signal matching for high-frequency designs, while low Z-axis expansion stabilizes plated vias for consistent fabrication quality.
Cost-Effective Comprehensive Performance: Integrating reliable high-frequency performance, stable mechanical properties and good manufacturability, RO4835 is a high-cost-performance substrate ideal for mass-produced automotive radar, microwave and RF devices.
