Uniaxial Plastic Geogrid Introduction
Plastic uniaxial geogrid is manufactured from plastic materials which may be high-density polypropylene or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins by the hot extruding process to make the resins into thin plates, the plates are punched into the regular holes for the formation of desired grids, and then the punching patterns are stretched longitudinally into the desired meshes to develop designed tensile strength.

Uniaxial Plastic Geogrid Feature
This kind of structure has high tensile strength and tensile modulus. The tensile strength reaches 100-200mpa, which is close to the level of low carbon steel. Plastic Uniaxial Geogrid Applications
- For strengthening soft foundation: Geogrid can quickly improve the bearing capacity of foundation, control the development of settlement, limit the road base, effectively distribute the load to the wider subbase, so as to reduce the thickness of the base, reduce the project cost, shorten the construction period and prolong the service life.
- One way geogrid is used for reinforced asphalt or cement pavement: geogrid is laid at the bottom of asphalt or cement pavement, which can reduce rutting depth, prolong pavement fatigue life, and reduce asphalt or cement pavement thickness to save cost.
- It is used to reinforce embankment slope and retaining wall: the filling of traditional embankment, especially high embankment, often needs to be overfilled, and the edge of road shoulder is not easy to be compacted, which leads to the phenomenon of slope rain erosion, collapse and instability.
