Ferrochrome Melting Submerged EAF Electric Arc Furnace

Submerged melting furnace, which is also known as electric arc furnace (EAF) or resistance furnace, It is mainly used for the reduction of smelting ores, carbon reductants and solvents etc. it is mainly for production of ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochromium, tungsten iron, silicon and manganese alloy and other ferroalloy, all above are important industrial raw materials and calcium carbide and other chemical raw materials in metallurgical industry.

Its work is characterized by the use of carbon or magnesia refractory for lining, the use of self-baking electrode. Electrode inserted into the charge for submerged arc operation, the use of arc energy and current through the charge, due to the resistance of the charge generated by the energy to melt the metal, one after another feeding, intermittent iron slag, it is a continuous operation industrial furnace.

Main purposes: for smelting of metal or nonmetallic materials of industrial silicon, ferroalloy, calcium carbide, copper, yellow phosphorus, boron phosphide, fused magnesia, etc.

Steelmaking electric arc furnace is divided into normal power, high power and ultra high power according to matched power. It also can be divided into independent foundation, conjoined foundation, large pivotal bearing and four connecting link structure by roof rotating mechanism. There are left operation and right operation types for user’s selection. According to the loading method, it can be divided into horizontal continuous feeding type electric arc furnace and furnace lid rotating top-opening feeding type electric arc furnace. The electric arc furnace consists of furnace body, furnace roof, tilting device, furnace lifting and rotating device, electrode lifting device, water-cooling device, hydraulic device, furnace transformer, secondary busbar, HV cabinet, LV electric and automatic control system etc.

Function

1. Used for scrap melting, decarbonization, dephosphorization, desulfuration, deoxygenation and molten steel heating, etc. For melting steel of different grades and components.

2. Partial hot metal charging or charging pig iron, sponge iron(DRI) and hot briquetted iron(HBI).

3. Additional charging during the melting process and primary alloying process.
