Product Description
Bow shackles and anchor shackles are interchangeable terms for shackles featuring a large, rounded "O" shaped bow. These screw pin bow shackles utilize a threaded pin inserted through the ears and securely tightened. They are specifically designed for temporary applications and are not recommended for permanent or long-term installations.
The large rounded design enables multi-directional load handling without developing significant side loads, making them ideal for multiple-leg slings, connecting slings to load rings, and accommodating wider straps. Note that working load limit reductions must be calculated when used in side-loading configurations.
Screw pin configuration is optimal for temporary applications requiring frequent and rapid connections and disconnections.
Important Safety Note: Live lines, such as slings used in choker hitch configurations, can cause screw pins to rotate, torque, or twist, potentially leading to unthreading. Always ensure pins are fully tightened before each lift, with threads completely engaged and the shoulder in contact with the shackle body.
