TALURIT ® Copper Turnback Ferrule (TCU)
Copper ferrules designed specifically for use with stainless steel wire rope to prevent galvanic corrosion in highly corrosive environments.
Product Specifications
- Available in sizes from 1 to 30
- Requires approximately 25% higher pressing pressure than aluminum alloy ferrules
- Made from high grade copper in soft condition
- Seamlessly extruded over mandrel manufacturing process
- Validated according to TALURIT® splicing system within EN 13411-3 framework
Applications
Copper ferrules are used with stainless steel wire ropes to prevent galvanic corrosion, particularly in saltwater environments. Compatible with the same dies used for aluminum turnback ferrules.
Technical Notes
Important: Strength of slings for lifting activities made with copper turnback ferrules is not guaranteed. Properly installed terminations typically withstand tensile strength of 90% of minimum breaking load (MBL) of the wire rope. Verification testing required to ensure termination strength.
