API607 Double Block & Bleed Ball Valve Overview

High-performance trunnion mounted ball valve designed for demanding industrial applications with temperature range from -196°C to 610°C and pressure classes from 150 to 2500. Features double block and bleed functionality for enhanced safety and maintenance capabilities.

Special Design Features
  • Primary metal sealing with BX-type gasket rings for body-to-closure connections
  • Multiple barrier stem sealing system with primary metal stem sealing option
  • Metal-to-metal sealing between ball and seat with TCC coating for zero leakage performance
  • Non-elastomeric seals (PTFE-PEEK) compatible with severe media and blow-down service below -29°C
  • Internal protection on sealing areas with N06625 weld overlay
  • Vent and drain ports with primary metal barrier and seal welding

Double Block & Bleed (DBB) Function

When closed, each seat independently seals process medium between upstream/downstream and body cavity, allowing safe bleeding of trapped cavity pressure through drain and vent valves.

Double Isolation & Bleed (DIB) Function

Double piston effect seat design creates resultant thrust pushing seat ring against ball, requiring cavity pressure relief to prevent overpressure buildup.

Safety & Maintenance Features
Blow-out Proof Stem

Separate stem from ball with integral T-type round shoulder retained by gland, with alternative designs available upon request.

Anti-static Device

Spring plus graphite anti-static device maintains electrical continuity between all metallic components, ensuring resistance meets severe service requirements.

Grease Injection System

Standard on DN150 (NPS 6) and larger valves, optional on smaller sizes. Provides emergency sealing capability if O-rings are damaged.
