GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF AISI 1010
AISI 1010 may be a low-carbon alloy appropriate in sheet and strips for deep drawing, carburized and structural applications. AISI 1010 is right for the car industry, where it frequently is employed for auto bodies, fenders, and smaller parts including pans and transmission covers.

HEAT TREATMENT OF AISI 1010
Normalize at 1725° to 1775°F (941° to 968°C) before air cooling
Anneal at 1650° to 1750°F (899° to 954°C) before furnace cooling
Harden at 1650° to 1700°F (899° to 927°C) before quenching in water, brine or caustic
Can be case hardened
