S20100 offers advantages, but in some applications where corrosion resistance, strength and high temperature performance are more important, other stainless steel alloys (e.g. 304, 316 stainless steel) may be more suitable.
Compared with 304 stainless steel, the strength of 201 stainless steel hot-rolled pipe is 10% higher. 201 stainless steel pipe performs well when annealed at 1850°F-1950°F and has excellent fabrication and welding properties.
It has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and has high annealed mechanical properties. The chromium content of 201 stainless steel pipe is as high as 18%, the nickel content is as high as 5~6%, the silicon content is as high as 1%, and the manganese content is as high as 7.50%, so it has the best corrosion resistance. In addition, 201 stainless steel pipes excel in resistance to stress corrosion cracking and intergranular corrosion and are primarily used in food processing applications. SS 201 cold rolled pipe is mainly used in construction applications.
