Railway Anchors For Stable And Secure Fastening
Gnee Rail manufactures different types of rail anchors from special T shaped spring steel, after the forging and heat treatment it has advantage of uniform strength and lasting service. The anchors are used where the fastenings system requires an extra creep resisting arrangement. There are various shapes of the anchor which is made of rolled bars of various sections. When wheel runs on the rail, the railway anchor grips the rail firmly and when set against sleepers, resists longitudinal movement of the rails caused by passing trains.

Design features of rail anchors
Rail anchors are widely used in railway construction projects to prevent the movements of steel rails. Rail tie plates are welded to the top surface of the bottom flange of the steel rail. In general, rail tie plates overhang the side of the rail tracks by 100 to 150mm.
Application Rules of Rail Anchors
Rail anchors should be on the gage side of the rail base against the same tie face on opposite rails.
Rail anchors have to hold the rail base tightly and firmly and have full bearing against rail tie face.
A new rail anchor and a rail tie will be needed when the bearing of rail anchor against the tie has been disturbed.
Anchors shall not be moved by driving them along the rail.
The rail ties should be kept straightened when the anchors are applied.
How does Rail Anchors Work
Rail anchors are applied to the rail base directly and lodge up against the tie, they are equipped to fasten rail track on the base plate and sleepers, it is designed in one-piece construction to prevent the rail from longitudinal movements, as"creeping" of the rail, which caused by changing temperature, grades, traffic patterns, and braking action of trains.
