Hot Rolled 42CrMo4 Die Alloy Steel Round Bar
42CrMo4 is a heat treatable steel containing at least 0.9% chromium and 0.15% molybdenum as strengthening elements. After quenching and tempering, it achieves high strength and good low-temperature impact toughness with a typical tensile strength of 900-1200 N/mm². This material offers superior performance compared to 34CrMo4 steel due to higher bon and chromium content. Similar to AISI 4140 with minor differences in manganese and chromium content, 42CrMo4 provides good machinability and wear resistance, with minimal temper brittleness but limited weldability.
