GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1. Chlorpyrifos Mode of action
Systemic insecticide with translaminar activity and with contact and stomach action.
2. Chlorpyrifos Uses
Control of Hemiptera, especially aphids, Thysanoptera and Lepidoptera, by soil and foliar application, on a wide range of crops,
especially vegetables, fruit and tea. Applied at 75-300 g/ha on vegetables, 100-700 g/ha in orchards.
3.It acts by contact and ingestion as an antagonist of the post-synaptic nicotinic receptors in the insect central nervous system, blocking acetylcholine at the post-synaptic membrane and impairing normal nerve function.
The target pest’s feeding activity ceases within minutes to hours and death usually occurs between 1-7 days depending on mode of
application.
