1. Identifying and Selecting Oil Seals

Gain a thorough understanding of counterfeit and substandard products to ensure the procurement of high-quality, compliant oil seals.

2. Proper Installation Guidelines

If the shaft diameter's outer surface exhibits low roughness, rust, burrs, or other imperfections, polish it smoothly using fine emery cloth or a whetstone.

Apply clean engine oil or grease to the oil seal lip or the corresponding shaft contact area.

Coat the oil seal’s outer ring with sealant, and protect the shaft’s keyway by wrapping it with stiff paper to prevent lip damage.

Use a dedicated installation tool to press the oil seal in with a rotating motion—never hammer it directly, as this may deform the seal or dislodge the spring, causing failure.

If lip folding, spring detachment, or misalignment occurs, remove and reinstall the seal properly.

Important: Do not adjust the inner spring tension unless the shaft shows wear or the seal’s spring force is insufficient.
