Seawater Reverse Osmosis Technology
How SWRO Systems Work
Seawater reverse osmosis systems effectively remove over 99% of saline content from feed water. These systems incorporate rinsing and chemical purification apparatus to eliminate sodium chloride, prevent scaling, and maintain optimal system performance. The core components include reverse osmosis membranes and high-pressure feed pumps, which are specially designed and applied for successful marine operation.
Salt Removal Capability
Semipermeable membranes allow water to pass through while filtering out dissolved salts. Reverse osmosis systems apply pressure as freshwater streams through membranes to remove concentrated saline, minerals, and pollutants. Multiple membrane configurations enhance daily purified water production capacity.
Benefits of Desalination
Seawater desalination has become essential for producing pure freshwater in regions lacking drinkable water sources. As traditional water sources become depleted, ocean water provides an abundant supply. Although seawater contains high salt levels making it unsuitable for consumption, desalination technology makes it practical for various applications.
