Habio Glucose Oxidase

Product Overview

Glucose oxidase (GOD) is a new enzyme preparation developed by Habio in cooperation with the Institute of Biotechnology in the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. With advanced liquid submerged fermentation technology and a variety of post-processing technologies, GOD can highly catalyze the β-D-glucose reaction to generate gluconic acid and consume oxygen. It has the advantages of high reaction efficiency and non-toxicity, which gives full play to its superiority in health care and disease prevention for animal breeding.
The functions of Habio GOD are described as follows:
a) Acidify the digestive environment of the gastrointestinal tract, proliferate probiotics in intestines, produce more short-chain fatty acids, and improve the immunity of poultry and livestock;
b) Eliminate intestinal pathogenic bacteria, ensure the integrity of morphological structure of intestinal tract and optimize intestinal flora;
c) Stimulate the production of endogenous enzymes in intestines, and promote the digestion and absorption of nutrients;
d) Prevent the harm from mycotoxins.

 

Mechanism of antioxidation of GOD

GOD can consume molecular oxygen or atomic oxygen to oxidize glucose and protect the easily oxidizable components in food. According to the reaction conditions, there are three forms of GOD catalytic reaction:
(1) in the absence of catalase, 1 mol of oxygen is consumed for every 1 mol of glucose oxidized:


   β-D-glucose + O2→β-D-glucolactone + H2O2.
(2) in the presence of catalase, 1 mol of glucose is oxidized and 1 mol of oxygen is consumed.

(3) in the presence of ethanol and catalase, catalase can be used for the oxidation of ethanol, consuming 1 mol of oxygen per mol of oxidized glucose:

​Definition of Activity

One unit (U) of Glucose Oxidase is defined as the quantity of enzymes, which liberates D-gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide every minute from 1 μmol of β-D- glucose at 37℃ and pH 6.0.
