What is enzyme?

Enzyme, a protein that has a highly efficient and specific catalytic effect.Almost all metabolic reactions in human body require the participation of enzymes, and the control of substance metabolism is mostly realized through the regulation of enzyme activity.

Phytase is an enzyme specially designed to degrade phytic acid and phytate in feed ingredients whose main functions are:

1. Releasing the phytate-bound calcium and phosphorus in raw materials, improving the utilization of calcium and phosphorus, reducing the use of calcium monophosphate therefore saving costs;
2. Reducing the emission of calcium, phosphorus and mineral elements to reduce environmental pollution;
3. Decomposition of phytate which binds to protein and digestive enzymes to improve the digestive utilization of amino acids;
4. Overdose phytase can improve production performance more effectively.

Enzyme activity definition

One Phytase Unit(U) is defined as the amount of enzyme required to release 1μmol of inorganic phosphorus per minute from 5.0 mmol/L sodium phytate at 37℃ and pH5.5.
