What is Hypochlorous Acid (HCLO)?

• Hypochlorite water disinfectant is a kind of small molecule compound, and its effective component is hypochlorous acid (HClO).
• Slightly acidic hypochlorite disinfectant refers to the pH value controlled between 5.0-6.5.
• Hypochlorite is one of the most effective bactericides produced by phagocytizing neutrophils in white blood cells.
• The micro acid hypochlorite produced by artificial technology is widely used for disinfection of indoor air, surface of objects, water, human skin and mucous membrane.

Hypochlorous acid molecules can act on the unsaturated fatty acids on the cell membrane to disintegrate the cell wall; therefore, hypochlorous acid easily penetrates the bacterial cell wall, enters and destroys important components inside the bacteria;
CLO-
Hypochlorite ion (the main component of 84 disinfectant) is negatively charged and repels each other with the surface of bacteria, so hypochlorite ion has poor bactericidal ability.

How does hypochlorous acid kill bacteria?
"The hypochlorous acid is capable of breach the walls available in the cell of pathogens," Ostrowski said. Once within the bacterium, the hypochlorous acid wreaks havoc via way of means of chemically interacting with proteins, inflicting them to lose their complex, origamilike structures. The proteins' capability finishes, and the cells begins o to die.
