Server and Customer End Functions
- Generate IPEK with re-encryption or plaintext encryption capabilities
- Generate PIN protection and decryption keys
- Generate sensitive data protection and decryption keys
- Inject IPEK into terminal applications
- Encrypt PIN and sensitive data
- Calculate MAC key for secure transactions
DUKPT Encryption System Workflow
- Receive (cryptogram, KSN) pair on host side
- Locate appropriate BDK if multiple exist on host side
- Regenerate IPEK and derive transaction key using KSN information
- Decrypt cryptogram using transaction key
