DIN ARI 900 Series Spring Loaded Pressure Safety Valve, Safety Relief Valve
Safety valves were first used on steam boilers during the industrial revolution. Early boilers without them were prone to accidental Explosion.
Safety valves also evolved to protect equipment such as pressure vessel (fired or not) and heat exchangers. Safety valve term should be limited to compressible fluid application (gas, vapor, steam).
The two general types of protection encountered in industry are thermal protection and flow protection.
For liquid-packed vessels, thermal relief valves are generally characterized by the relatively small size of the safety valve necessary to provide protection from excess pressure caused by thermal expansion. In this case a small valve is adequate because most liquids are nearly incompressible, and so a relatively small amount of fluid discharged through the relief valve will produce a substantial reduction in pressure.
Valve Selection:
- Valve Body: 304, or 316L stainless steel
- Gasket Material: EPDM, NBR, FPM
- Pressure Range: Free calibration by adjusting spring
- Manual Handle: Optional for partially opening when necessary
- Butt Weld Connection Standard: DIN11850, DIN11866, EN10367, ISO1127, ISO2037
Application:
Sanitary stainless steel safety valve, also called pressure relief valve, is widely used to protect pipe lines and pump from break down by over pressure in food, beverage, pharmacy, brewery, wine, diary industries.
Working Principle:
- Set the valve pressure at a specific value
- Valve is normally closed by outside force
- When pipeline pressure exceeds the set value, the valve will open automatically
- Medium is discharged through safety valve
- Pipeline pressure reduces and returns to safety value
- Valve closes by itself until next cycle of excessive pressure
