The ZW-G200 Remote Laser Methane Detector is a handheld gas inspection instrument designed for locating potential methane leaks from a distance. Based on Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS), it provides non-contact measurement of methane along an optical path, making it suitable for gas infrastructure inspection and industrial leak surveys.
The detector incorporates laser transmission and receiving components within a compact housing. During operation, the laser beam is directed toward a reflective target, and the returned optical signal is processed to calculate path-integrated methane concentration.
With a maximum detection distance of 200 meters, depending on configuration and measurement conditions, the ZW-G200 enables operators to examine pipelines, elevated facilities and remote gas installations without placing a sampling probe directly at the suspected leakage point.
The instrument also features adjustable alarm thresholds, a color LCD display and audible, visual and vibration alerts. Its rechargeable 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery supports more than 10 hours of operation, making it suitable for extended inspection activities.

The ZW-G200 uses the characteristic optical absorption properties of methane. The laser signal travels toward a reflective target and returns to the receiver, where absorption information is analyzed to calculate the integrated concentration along the beam path.
The measurement result is expressed in ppm·m, representing gas concentration integrated over distance rather than a conventional single-point ppm reading.
The ZW-G200 combines long-range optical measurement, rapid methane detection, configurable alarm functions and extended battery operation in one handheld device.
Its remote detection capability makes it particularly suitable for inspecting elevated, distant or difficult-to-access methane handling equipment while reducing the need for close-range gas sampling.
