Molding COG FLAT SCUPTED is shaped in compression type by shape processing (Squeezed suture). Tensile strength is three times larger compared to cutting cog. It prevents the breakage of the thread after the procedure by the facial muscle movement. It is mainly used for the jawline. It activates fibroblast and helps the skin elasticity recovery and is slowly hydrolyzed during 6 to 8 months in the body.
The barbs along conventional threads (Cutting Thread) are made by cutting into the thread. This weakens the integrity of the thread, making it more brittle. Until recent years, we have developed Molding Threads via a mold-pressing process which conserves the integrity of the thread. Before molding-pressing, Molding Threads have “bumps” along the thread. These bumps are originally large and the thickness of the thread does not change. Mold-pressing shape these bumps into barbs.
This type of threads is still being improved and the latest in the market is the Molding Cog Thread. Molding Cog Threads offer much more advantages in terms of strength, duration, tissue trauma and cost price.
