Remote Recharge Process
The AMI system communicates with smart meters via DCU (Data Concentrator Unit). For water meter applications, the meter contains an integrated RF module that transmits data to the DCU, which then forwards the information to the AMI system via GPRS. Recharge operations generate secure tokens within the AMI system, which are transmitted through the DCU to the water meter, enabling successful remote credit top-ups.
This comprehensive AMI system provides monitoring capabilities for both individual prepaid water meters and bulk water meter installations, ensuring accurate data transfer and enabling rapid detection of pipeline issues or system malfunctions.
