The types of steel plates are usually divided into three types: thick plates (above 6mm), medium and thick plates (3-6mm) and thin plates (below 3mm) according to their thickness. As far as the plate making process is concerned, low carbon steel plates can be divided into two types: cold rolling and hot rolling. Hot rolling alone can produce low carbon steel sheets of about 1.2mm and stainless steel sheets of about 2mm, and thinner sheets can be produced by cold rolling and annealing and tempering rolling.
