Steel plates and other components are manufactured with a select amount of carbon content. A Mild Steel Plate is a grade that is designed to have a carbon content between 0.05% to 0.25% by weight. The versatile grade of plates is produced with a combination of iron and carbon. The Ms Plate is designed in thickness above 6mm and can extend up to 100mm. These plates have a melting range between 1450 degrees C to 1520 degrees C. These plates have enhanced strength and provide stability to different applications. Some of the most common Mild Steel Plate Grades are EN24T, EN8, S275JR, EN3B, Grade A Corten, rebar 500B, EN1A, A142, A193, and A252 amongst some.
Carbon steel plate is a kind of steel with carbon content less than 2.11% and no metal element is intentionally added. It can also be called plain carbon steel or carbon steel. In addition to carbon, it also contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements. The higher the carbon content, the better the hardness and strength will be, but the plasticity will be poor.
