Overview
Planar Light wave Circuit splitter (PLC splitter), supports maximum 1:32 splitter ratio, with small size, wide operating wavelength range, low insertion loss, low PDL, high return loss and uniformity splitter ratio.
Application
Splitter is a passive device used to connect OLT and ONU, distributing down link data and integrating uplink data. The splitter includes an uplink fiber port and several downlink fiber ports. Optical signal from uplink fiber port is distributed to all the downlink fiber ports.
To choose the splitter ratio, there is several conditions need to be considered: EPON system transmission distance, amount of MDU users, and bandwidth in the system. Usually, 1:32 splitter is better for FTTH/FTTB solution. The total amount is less than 512.
