LiFePO4 batteries are between 1/3-1/4 the weight of traditional lead acid batteries. They also cycle up to more than 2000 times at 100% and 1C rate. However, its life cycles will be more if less 100% DOD and less 1C.
Lead acid batteries' internal resistance requires them to be charged slowly and in stages to keep internal temperatures lower. While, LiFePO4 batteries can be charged at a constant current and constant voltage, which allows them to be recharged quickly and put back into service when they're needed.
This can be especially important when charging via solar panels.
