Cat5e Unshielded Twisted Pair is a kind of cable after some performance improvements of the existing Cat5 shielded Twisted Pair. Many performance parameters, such as near-end crosstalk, attenuation crosstalk ratio, return loss, etc. have been improved, but its transmission bandwidth is still 100MHz.
Cat5e twisted pair also uses 4 winding pairs and 1 tension resistance wire, the color of the pair is exactly the same as Cat5 of twisted pair, respectively, white orange, orange, white green, green, white blue, blue, white brown and brown.Bare copper wire diameter is 0.51mm(24AWG wire gauge), insulated wire diameter is 0.92mm, UTP cable diameter is 5mm.Cat5e unshielded twisted pair wires can also provide up to 1,000 Mb/s of transmission bandwidth, but they often require the support of expensive special equipment.Therefore, it is usually only applied to 100Mb/s Fast Ethernet to achieve desktop switch to computer connection.If you are not going to upgrade your network to Gigabit Ethernet later, you may want to use Cat5e unshielded twisted pair wires in the horizontal wiring.
