Steel Wire Water Quenching Machine for 0.56-4mm Diameter with 42-60 Wire Capacity and Water Cooling System
When steel wire exits the furnace in full austenitic state, rapid cooling typically produces hard martensite without drawing. The addition of Aqua Quench 110 modifies water properties by increasing viscosity, raising vaporization temperature, reducing thermal conductivity, and forming a protective steam film on the steel wire surface.
This steam film prevents direct contact between steel wire and water, enabling controlled heat exchange through the film to achieve gradual cooling. The wire remains enveloped in steam film throughout the process until heat exchange completes, preventing premature water contact and martensite formation.
- First Water Tank (WT1): Steel wire cools to approximately 650°C while maintaining steam film integrity before exiting
- Air Cooling Phase: Wire cools to about 620°C in air, facilitating austenite transformation to pearlite/sorbite
- Second Water Tank (WT2): Wire enters before steam film rupture to prevent temperature spikes that could affect mechanical properties of copper-plated steel wire
