Plastic quick couplings/connectors are commonly used in gas and liquid pipelines, whose diameters are less than 1/2 inch. A male coupling need work with a female coupling.
When the male coupling and the female coupling are independent in a piping system, either of them has a shut-off valve function to prevent liquid or gas leakage and flowback.
When the male coupling and the female coupling are locked together by the snap ring, the pipeline can be formed into a passage in an instant; when the snap ring is released, the male coupling and the female coupling are automatically separated, both ends of the pipe are closed instantly.
