A closed-cycle spray dryer is a specialized type of spray dryer that operates in a sealed, closed-loop system. It is designed for applications involving sensitive, hazardous, or flammable materials. Unlike open-cycle spray dryers, which release exhaust gases into the environment, closed-cycle spray dryers recycle the drying medium (such as nitrogen or air) within the system. This makes them safer, more energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly.
Example Process Flow Diagram (Textual Description):
- Step 1: Feed liquid is atomized into fine droplets in the drying chamber.
- Step 2: Heated inert gas (e.g., nitrogen) enters the chamber to evaporate the solvent.
- Step 3: Dried powder is separated from the gas stream using a cyclone separator.
- Step 4: Solvent vapor is condensed and collected in the condenser.
- Step 5: The inert gas is filtered, reheated, and recirculated into the drying chamber.

1. High speed drying. The surface area of Raw Material liquid increased a lot after atomization through nebulizer, 95%-98% of moisture will be evaporated in high temperature airflow in a flash, only needs seconds time.
2. Adopts Single position spray drying to make the liquid drop and hot air running in same position. Although the temperature of the air is high, the hot air contacts Liquid Drop once come into drying tank. So the temperature decreased at once to protect the material out of over heated. This is machine is also fit for the materials which are sensitive with Heating.
