The travel gearbox of an excavator, as a key component of the travel system, mainly functions to convert the high - speed and low - torque power output by the travel motor into low - speed and high - torque power through a series of gear transmissions to drive the travel wheels of the excavator. It generally contains multiple stages of gears inside, and the planetary gear structure is common. Taking the planetary gear - type travel gearbox as an example, power is input from the sun gear. The planet gears revolve around the sun gear and rotate at the same time, driving the planet carrier to rotate. The planet carrier then transmits power to the travel wheels.
