What is spur gear motor?
The structure of a spur gear head consists of larger gears meshing with smaller gears. The gears are mounted on shafts parallelly, but offset from each other. The meshing of the smaller gear with the larger gear reduces the rotational speed, converting it into torque. The pitch of the gear tooth is decisive of the final output speed and torque of the gear motor. Increasing multiple gear stages within the gear head leads to larger reduction ratio, resulting in lower output speeds and higher output torques. It has only one contact point at anytime which means any load is totally carried by the only contact point between two gears.
Application: Spur gear motors are a cost-efficient solution for low torque and low speed applications such as Intelligent robots, household appliances, kitchen and bathroom, coffee machine, vending machine, smart toilet, electric curtain.
