LDI vs Traditional Exposure Technology
- Traditional Exposure: Transfers images to PCB using mercury lamp irradiation through film negatives
- Laser Direct Imaging: Uses laser scanning to directly image patterns on PCB, delivering finer image quality and higher precision
How Laser Direct Imaging Works
The LDI process positions a PCB with a photo-sensitive surface under a computer-controlled laser. The computer scans the board surface into a raster image, matches it to pre-loaded CAD/CAM design files, and uses the laser to directly create the circuit image on the board with NC-controlled precision.
